Very sweet dog, bought him to hunt with but he has a genetic disorder that requires treatment a lot and I have not been able to stay on top of it. The condition is that his body does not fight off mites and causes him to lose hair. I treat it with ivermectin on his food. The condition is known as genetic mange as it looks a lot like mange, but is in no way the same thing. Please contact with any questions.

Rescue Me ID: 14-02-18-00059Ranger (male)

German Shorthaired Pointer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Ranger came to the shelter because he chased a cat and sadly killed it. Not really a crime punishable by death in the kill shelter. He's a good boy and not as hyper as some GSP that I've seen. He does need to be tested around young kids and more dogs so far he's passed all tests but the cats. I think he may have some Lab in him, he's heavier boned and shorter lags than a purebred GSP. With the beautiful GSP coloring.
