     It was just meant to be! Can I say LOVE at FIRST PICTURE! It had been a couple of months since we lost our 15 year old Lab. We had just started the process of adopting another doggie. One day I was trolling the internet sites and came across Rescue Me! Well, that's all it took was a picture of sweet Charlotte. After talking with the owner and hearing about her, I knew she was the one! My husband and I drove from Houston to Lake Charles to meet her and pick her up! The first couple of days were a bit challenging, but after about a week she acts like she has lived here all her life. This is our second rescue dog an we couldn't be more happy!

They came in today and were the perfect couple for him. They understood his shyness and are going to use their two Australian Cattle Dogs to teach him to herd. It is a perfect job for him and all his energy. There is someone for every dog.

     Hello, my name is Christy and I've had my short haired pointer for a year now. Two weeks ago, my landlord decided I could not longer keep her so I reached out in Facebook and also to the local no kill shelter in my area to try and find her a home before we had to take her to the pound. I was only given 10 days to get rid of Lucy. On the ninth day, I was googling rescue foundations in my area when I came across Rescue Me. While looking at the website, I decided to go ahead a post my info on the website to just see if it might help. Within an hour of posting about Lucy, a woman called and was almost in tears to have found her. Lucy looked just like the dog she had had for a long time and just recently had to have put down. We decided to meet later that same day and she was a perfect match for Lucy and me. If not for the website and this woman, I don't know where Lucy might be today. Thank you so much, Rescue Me!

     Coco found her forever family today! An active, young couple took her home today! They are in love with her. She will get so much attention from them!      Zep was adopted. The gentleman that took Zep seemed to click right away with him. Zep jumped into the truck like he owned the truck. He knew a lot about that breed and had a lot of very good plans for him and Zeppelin. I think they were a very good match. He has sent some pictures of him since he has taken him and he looks happy. I am very satisfied with Rescue Me, as I really never dealt with that type of dog before. I was pleased with the outcome Thank you.

     After two years of living in a foster home with a bunch of Collies, Miss Melody finally got her chance. A lady with two other pointer/hound cross rescues - had room to help a dog. Deborah saw Melody on Rescue Me and contacted me about her. A local non-profit transport group arranged a ride for Melody from New Mexico to Colorado, where she was met by her new 'dog brother' and her new mom, Deborah. Melody goes to the barn every day to watch Deborah milk the goats, and she runs the fence line when strangers are nearby. The only 'bad habit' Melody took with her is an addiction to couches. She had her own couch at her foster home, so at Deborah's, the first thing she did was climb up onto the couch and get cozy. Melody has since made friends with Deborah's handyman, several friends, and a few neighbors. She has settled in nicely and we couldn't be happier that she is finally home.      Thank you Rescue Me!! I searched for months until finding the perfect match to join our family. Little Copper and his sister were found skinny, and running along the side of a highway when someone kindly picked them up and placed them at Ani-Care Animal Shelter. When I saw him pop up on Rescue Me, I knew I had found the right pup so we drove 400 miles to pick him up. Now he loves his new family, putting on weight, and learning how to be a good canine citizen. He is smart as can be, and learning all sorts of new things in his new loving home.

     I was amazed at my experience on this website. No more than a few hours had passed after I posted my dog Lucky, when a very nice couple called me. They drove down to see him and visited for quite a while. That night, they stayed at a local hotel, and the next day they came and picked him up. Lucky took a liking to them immediately. He is, after all, a smart, gentle, and loving boy. They told me they had had two German Shorthair rescue dogs in the past, and they were in love with the breed. There were just good vibes all around, and I know my Lucky will have a great life for the rest of his life - no matter how long or short that may be. I am so glad that I called one of our vet offices and that the gal that answered the phone told me about this Rescue Me site. I was really worried that I wouldn't find a good home for him before I had to move. What a wonderful connection you allowed me to make. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

     Duchess was adopted by extended family friends HOWEVER HER POSTING WAS A TRUE SUCCESS FOR 2 OTHER DOGS on RescueMe....2 pointers were placed by NETWORKING with folks that responded to her post. So, keep emails and phone numbers of EVERYONE that contacts you leave no stone unturned. Anyone that contacted about Duchess was directed to the other 2 pointers and placed! Actually they are all now relocated in Pinellas County and I want to throw a RescueMe Reunion party for the dogs!

     About a year ago, my german shorthair pointer, Ginger started experiencing major anxiety. We had just welcomed our 2nd child and moved to a new home, and the change was overwhelming. On the 4th of July, the fireworks combined with the separation anxiety became too much, and Ginger began to chew trim. For the next 6 months, we had issues on and off. Each time we would come home, we weren't sure what we would find. At 8 years old, Ginger had joined our family as an 8 week old puppy. We were heartbroken and began to try everything we could to ease her anxiety. From thundershirts to calming plug ins to doggy prozac, we tried it all. It seemed a home with small children was just too much for Ginger. My husband and I decided we wanted to try to find a better home for Ginger. I posted her for adoption on this site, and we were contacted by a retired gentleman who had just lost his GSHP. He was anxiously looking for a new friend, and after carefully discussing her issues, he came to pick her up and adopted her. I cannot tell you what a blessing this site is. A GSHP rescue group turned us down when we reached out to them for help, and with her anxiety issues, a shelter or humane society were just not options. Ginger seemed to be un-adoptable, and we were very scared we were going to have to put her down. This site gave my loyal, loving friend the opportunity to have a second shot that she deserves. She is a sweet, wonderful pet, and I knew it was a match made in heaven when her new owner told me, 'She might be homesick at first - she had better just sleep with me tonight!' That brought a smile through my tears - thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

     I stumbled across this site while searching for ways to find my sister's German Shorthaired Pointer a new home. Her youngest son became severely allergic to her, and they were informed she would most likely have to be put down if we couldn't find her a home. This was absolutely heart breaking. However, after finding this site, I had many responses within hours of posting. Now, Delilah has a wonderful new home, where she will be loved as she deserves.      Hello, I've never blogged before or even read one but here goes. Eldridge was at my kennel because he was found and never claimed by his owner. I tried posting and put an ad in the newspaper but no one responded. I knew he was a nice dog but figured someday he would find a home. This was in December, and I was very business at work and just was caring for him. But last week I had a free moment and decided to look on the internet for rescue sites and that is where I saw Rescue Me. It was very easy to post and I had a call the next day from a lovely woman who had just lost her older pointer and was ready for another. It sounded too good to be true, but sure enough she came by, after a 2 hour drive to see him with her children and liked him. They took him home just 2 more days later. I am so happy Eldridge found a home. All dogs should have someone to love. Thanks for helping.

     I am so pleased to announce that our foster dog, Baby, has found a happy home! We found this sweet girl living in a trailer with a man who neglected her and treated her poorly. Although we really were not in the best financial or logistical position to give her the forever home she deserved, we took her in to get her back to health and show her love, and began our search for the best home for her. We discovered during her 7 months with us that Baby has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a skin and connective tissue disorder found in humans, and in canines known as 'Rubber Puppy Syndrome.' Luckily for Baby, her disorder was of the mild variety, only causing her skin to be delicate. While this did take extra maintenance, she was so worth it all. We wanted to be sure we found her a home where her new family would appreciate her condition and love her regardless of the challenge. Finally, via Rescue Me Animal Rescue Network, we found her a home on 80 acres of heaven, with 3 other German Shorthaired Pointers, with whom she could run, play, and explore. Her new family has reported that she is adjusting well and has become very attached to her people and her new doggie-companions. They love her and she loves them back! Thank you so much, Rescue Me, for making this resource available so we could find an appropriate and loving home for this amazing, sweet-souled creature. She deserves all the good in the world. We miss her very much and love her deeply, but are so happy that she is living her life somewhere that she will be truly cared-for and loved.
