    German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue Information: The German Shorthaired Pointer is a medium sized hunting dog. Shorthaired Pointers are intelligent and trainable. This breed does great with children. Shorthaired Pointers need a lot of exercise, attention, and affection. They can make excellent family dogs. Shorthaired Pointers can be socialized to get along well with cats and other dogs. Shorthaired Pointers need a large yard with a high fence. This breed is an excellent jogging companion.

    German Shorthaired Pointer Trivia: Shorthaired Pointers were developed in nineteenth century Germany. Some male Shorthaired Pointers develop unusually large nipples. The German Shorthaired Pointer is descended from the Spanish Shorthaired Pointer.
